In an effort to provide information to residents as quickly as possible, the Township will issue its quarterly newsletter via email. The newsletter will include breaking information on township activities, dates of meetings, program notices and other important information.
The Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors recently announced that it has awarded Montgomery Township for outstanding efforts and achievement in citizen communication. Montgomery Township has been selected as the Thirteenth Annual Outstanding Citizen Communication Award winner in the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors' 36th Annual Township Citizen Communication Contest. The annual contest recognizes townships that have successfully communicated programs and activities to their residents. The top award is given to the one community that best displays exceptional and comprehensive efforts to communicate with residents. Montgomery Township was also chosen as the third place winner in the Class 1 Newsletter, Cable TV Channel, and Internet Home Page categories. The Township is pleased and honored to accept these awards and will continue to strive for excellence with its communication efforts.
The Montgomery Township Citizens' University was developed to educate and inform residents about their local government departments, representatives, programs, and current community issues. The program is made up of a series of classes that offer background information on all aspects of the operation and management of the Township. The courses for residents are aimed at promoting an understanding and awareness of the Township's structure and services. Citizens' University explores the roles that citizens and the administration have in maintaining an effective municipal government.
